Accessibility Information

The Classic Expressions website achieved Priority 2 W3C accessibility standards on 19 September 2006, and was evaluated using Watchfire's WebXACT utilities and by subsequent manual checking.

If you are a visually impaired user, or are using screen reading software, and encounter difficulties using sections of this website please report this to us at: webmaster@classicexpressions.co.uk. We will endeavour to modify the website immediately.

Screen Reader Setting Recommendations

Users of screen readers should note that this site makes use of Title and Acronym, and so will gain more from the site if they configure their screen reader to pick up these attributes.

For users of JAWS we recommend the following sort order 'title-text-alt-href' as the best combination to set.

Controlling Text Size and Colours

Some instructions on how to change the text size and colours of this website are contained in the following page:

Access Keys

Access Keys provide a quick way to navigate round the site without using a mouse, and on this site they are based on the UK Government Access Keys system. The keys are used in conjuction with Alt or Ctrl and Enter keys which vary depending on your browser.

1. Hold down

  • 'Alt' key if using Internet Explorer for Windows
  • 'Ctrl' key if using Mozilla/Firefox, or if using Safari on a Mac
  • 'Shift' and 'Esc' together if using Opera (note Opera ignores numeric Access Keys)

2. and simultaneously select a key from the list below

  • T - Top of current page
  • 1 - Navigate back to Home Page
  • 2 - View contact details
  • 9 - Skip to main content on page (text-only mode only)

3. then press 'Enter' if using Internet Explorer for Windows PC - other browsers go to the page immediately.

These keys have been selected so as not to conflict with those in use by Browsers, Word, Acrobat Reader and assistive technologies such as JAWS, Supernova and HomePageReader.
